Strong Middle Mile Anchors Steady 5K Finish Kelsey Wuethrich completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:27, an average pace of 9:30 per mile. She opened with a 9:26 first mile, surged to 8:17 for the second, then eased to a 10:47 close, finishing with an even cumulative pace across the race. That second mile stood as the highlight of her race, marking her fastest mile of the day. Running through downtown Boulder, Kelsey covered ground at elevation over 5,000 feet, a factor every runner on this course contends with. Given the strength she showed mid-race, she may find value in working toward sustaining that pace closer to the finish in future starts.
