Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Matthew Doll #41721 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in the 5K Matthew Doll finished the 5K in 25:24, placing 255th overall and 193rd among men in a field of 2,677. His opening mile came in at 7:07, followed by a 7:12 second mile, showing a strong, consistent pace through the first two-thirds of the race. The third mile slowed to 10:04, softening his overall average to 8:11 per mile for the distance. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Doll's early pace reflected sharp pacing discipline before the late fade. With his foundation of speed already evident in the first two miles, working on sustaining that effort through the final stretch could help him close races as strongly as he starts them.
