Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Carlos Uriel Vega #40418 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Start Fades Into a Determined Finish Carlos Uriel Vega covered the 5K in 31:48, an average pace of 10:15 per mile. His race opened strong with a 9:22 first mile, the fastest stretch of his day, before easing to 10:00 in the second mile and 11:25 over the closing mile as the effort caught up with him. Vega's run ended where every Boulderthon distance does, on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. Holding that opening pace over the final two miles would be a reasonable target for his next 5K.
