Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Bruce Stevens #41552 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Bruce Stevens finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:42, an 8:37 min/mile pace, in downtown Boulder. Stevens opened with an 8:55 first mile, then surged to a 7:23 second mile before easing to 9:21 over the final stretch. That middle mile stood out as his fastest of the race, showing a strong mid-race gear shift. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to the effort. A steady closing effort would help him carry that second-mile strength through to the finish in future 5Ks.
