Steady Early Miles Give Way to a Tougher Back Half Jyssica Lachance finished the marathon in 4:14:52, an average pace of 9:43 per mile. She ran evenly through the first 15 miles, never slower than 9:40 per mile and holding a cumulative pace around 9:10, before the effort eased over the second half of the race. That opening stretch, mile 1 through mile 15, was the standout of the day a consistent, well-controlled block that gave her a strong foundation. The closing miles slowed into the 10:0011:49 range as she passed the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 and continued on toward the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a course that sits above 5,000 feet of elevation throughout.
