Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Jennifer Gathright completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 1:07:10. After an opening mile of 27:27, she surged to a 16:31 second mile her fastest stretch of the race before settling into a 21:16 closing mile to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. The result reflects a race that found its rhythm in the middle before tapering slightly at the end. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder, Gathright's pacing shows a clear turning point after a cautious start. That second-mile push stands out as the highlight of her day, showing she had strength to draw on once she found her stride. Maintaining that effort a bit longer into the final mile could be a useful focus for her next race.
