That's a sharp improvement from his 2025 Boulderthon 5K, where he finished in 18:37 more than two minutes slower. His race built quickly: a 5:19 opening mile gave way to a 4:44 second mile, his fastest stretch of the race, before easing to a 6:00 close. That surge through the middle mile pushed his overall pace to 5:01 per mile at the two-mile mark, setting up the final time of 5:20 per mile for the full distance.
