Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gabe Nix #22750 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pace Carries Nix Through the Half Gabe Nix completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:52:01, averaging 8:33 per mile. Nix's mile splits stayed remarkably tight across the race, mostly hovering between 8:19 and 8:49 through the middle miles. After a slight dip near mile 9 (9:01), he found another gear late, closing with back-to-back miles of 8:07 and 8:03 his fastest full-mile stretch of the day. That strong finish through the closing miles, which brought him onto the Pearl Street Mall to end the race, reflects well-managed effort in the thinner air of Boulder's 5,000-plus feet of elevation. Given the consistency shown here, Nix could experiment with a slightly faster early pace next time to see if it yields an even stronger overall finish.
