Strong Middle Mile Powers a Podium Finish Carolyn Mccann, 66, of Longmont finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:29, placing third in the F 65-69 division out of the field of 2,677. Her race shape moved from a steady start to a strong middle. The opening mile came in at 10:38, followed by a much quicker second mile at 8:50 her fastest mile of the day before easing to 10:59 over the final stretch. That second-mile surge was the highlight of her run, showing a solid gear shift once she found her rhythm. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding that pace through the middle mile stands out as a strong effort. A slightly more even split between miles two and three could smooth out the finish next time, though this was an encouraging, well-placed result overall.
