Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Vicente Salas #40291 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles
Strong Second Mile Anchors a Steady 5K Vicente Salas finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:44. His race built through a strong middle mile before easing back over the final stretch, with mile two standing out as his fastest of the day at 8:27, a solid pickup from his opening mile of 9:07. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Salas showed he could shift gears mid-race, and that second-mile surge is a good marker to build from. Holding closer to that pace over the final mile could bring his overall 5K time down in future races.
