Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Galen Burrell #41830 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast Start Fuels Podium-Worthy 5K Finish Galen Burrell placed 23rd overall and 19th among men in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K, crossing in 16:36. He also topped the M45-49 division, a result that reflects strong, consistent effort across the field of 2,677. His race unfolded with a swift opening mile at 5:12, the fastest stretch of his day, before easing slightly to 5:20 and 5:36 over the next two miles. That steady pace built to an overall 5:21 min/mile average, showing control after an aggressive start. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, holding that pace through the final mile stands out as a well-managed effort. Galen might consider slightly evening his mile splits next time to sustain that early speed longer.
