Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Lila Hansen crossed the line in 32:11 for the 5K, covering the course at 5,000+ feet of Boulder elevation. Her race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile of 10:24, a sharp surge to 8:50 through the second mile, and a final mile that eased back to 12:08 as she brought it home. That second mile stands out as the highlight of her race, nearly a minute and a half faster than her other two splits and the clear high point of her effort. With the front half of the course behind her at a strong pace, there may be room to work on carrying that middle-mile strength through to the finish in future 5Ks.
