Fast Start Carries Through Mid-Race Before a Steady Fade William Bresee, 31, of Jericho, VT, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:36:20, placing 146th overall and 125th among men in a field of 3,305 a finish inside the top five percent of the field. Bresee ran his quickest stretch over the first three miles, covering them at a 7:24 per-mile pace, and held between 7:20 and 8:00 per mile through mile 18. The final miles cooled off, with mile splits settling into the 9:0010:00 range as his cumulative pace eased to 8:15 per mile by the finish. The effort played out at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, and Bresee moved through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 as the pace began to soften.
