Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Lucy Herrod #40245 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Solid 5K Finish Lucy Herrod crossed the finish line of the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 33:31, an average pace of 10:48 per mile. Her race unfolded in a clear arc: an opening mile of 11:22, a strong surge to 9:34 for mile two, then a settling third mile of 11:38 to the line in downtown Boulder. That second mile stands out as the highlight of her race, nearly two minutes faster than her other splits and the clearest sign of well-managed effort once she found her rhythm. With the finish just off that pace, there's room to explore starting a touch quicker next time to see if that mile-two strength can be sustained earlier in the race.
