Her race built steadily from an opening mile at 7:20 to a tightened middle stretch through miles 3-5, each covered between 7:15 and 7:17, keeping her cumulative pace under 7:20 for the race's first half. A slight easing followed through miles 6-10, before she closed with her fastest mile of the day at mile 12, clocked at 7:08, ahead of the final push into downtown Boulder. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Koehn's even effort through the early and middle miles reflects well-managed pacing. The finish on the Pearl Street Mall capped a race where her closing surge at mile 12 stood out as the strongest single-mile effort of her day.
