Strong Middle Mile Fuels Steady 5K Finish Natalie Majkrzak completed the 5K in 29:29, an average pace of 9:30 per mile. She opened with a 9:24 first mile, surged to 8:52 cumulative pace through mile two, then eased to a 28:25 cumulative mark by mile three before closing out the final stretch. Her second mile stood out as the fastest of the race, clocked at 8:20, a solid push before the final stretch back into downtown Boulder. That effort came at over 5,000 feet of elevation, adding weight to the pace she held through the course's midsection before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall.
