Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jesus Castan #31154 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Fuels a Top-Tier 10K Finish Jesus Castan crossed the line in 38:35, placing 13th overall and 10th among men in a field of 3,071. He opened with a 5:34 first mile, the fastest stretch of his race, and held under 6:00 per mile through the first three miles before easing slightly as the course wore on, finishing with a 7:10 final mile. Castan's early pace built a cushion he carried through the middle miles, with his cumulative pace staying near 6:00 per mile through mile five. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, his output over the opening 5K stands out as the strongest segment of the day. A touch more evenness between miles three and six could sharpen the back half of a similarly paced future run.
