Steady Early Pace Gives Way to a Late Fade Rhondi Clark completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 54:04, finishing slower than her 50:09 showing in the same event in 2024. She started strong, covering the first two miles in 8:12 and 7:57, the latter standing as her fastest mile of the race. From there, her mile splits gradually lengthened, climbing to 9:20 by mile four and 10:07 over the final mile, pulling her overall pace from 8:04 per mile at the two-mile mark to 8:43 min/mile by the finish. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds a layer of difficulty to any pace management, and Clark's early miles showed she could handle it well before the closing stretch pulled her average down.
