Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Daniel Kinzeler #41677 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Daniel Kinzeler completed the 5K in 27:19, an overall pace of 8:48 per mile across the field of 2,677. The race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile at 8:11, a notable surge to 7:42 for mile two, and a final mile that eased to 10:32. That second mile stood out as the fastest stretch of the day, showing Daniel's ability to find another gear mid-race. Running this 5K at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds context to the effort. Going forward, Daniel might explore ways to sustain that mile-two pace deeper into the race, letting the strong middle mile set the tone for a more even final push.
