Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gavin Brown #32101 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Pace Through Five Miles, Strong Kick Before the Close Gavin Brown covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:02:35, an average pace of 10:05 per mile. His splits held remarkably even through the first four miles, ticking between 10:03 and 10:13, before he found another gear in mile five, clocking a 9:17 his fastest mile of the race. The final mile eased back to 11:01 as he brought the effort home. That kind of pace consistency across four miles is notable given Boulders elevation, which sits above 5,000 feet. Browns mid-race surge in mile five stands out as the highlight of his day, and with that strength already shown, working on sustaining a similar surge later in the race could be a rewarding focus next time out.
