Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jeremiah Smith #41670 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Second Mile Anchors Steady 5K Effort Jeremiah Smith completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:49, an overall pace of 10:16 per mile. The race unfolded unevenly: an opening mile of 10:15 gave way to a sharp surge through mile two, covered in 8:24, before the pace eased back to 12:17 over the closing mile. That middle mile stood out as the highlight of the race, showing a clear capacity for a faster clip than the overall average suggests. Smith's finish came at altitude, in a city sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level a factor worth noting for any runner tackling Boulder's roads. With the front-loaded speed already showing promise, a more even pacing plan across all three miles could help him carry that mile-two strength through to the finish.
