A Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady Finish Elijah Nabors completed the 5K in 32:18, an average pace of 10:25 per mile. His race opened at 10:53 for the first mile, before he surged to an 8:48 second mile his fastest stretch of the day then eased to an 11:52 close as he made his way toward the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Nabors placed 98th in the M 20-24 division. The 5K field set off at 7:45 AM, and his splits show a runner who found his rhythm early and used that middle mile to build a cushion before bringing it home through downtown Boulder.
