Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ricky John Gamble #41410 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

A Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Ricky John Gamble completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:38, an overall pace of 9:53 per mile. His race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile at 10:10, a notably quicker second mile at 8:46, and a final mile that eased back to 10:37 as he crossed into downtown Boulder. That middle mile stood out as his fastest stretch of the race, showing a solid surge in the race's middle third before settling into the closing mile. Running this 5K at altitude, in a city sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level, adds context to the overall effort. Given the strength of that second mile, Gamble might consider working on carrying more of that pace into the final stretch in future races.
