Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Aracely Delacruz Garcia covered the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 33:29, an average pace of 10:48 per mile. She opened with a 10:57 first mile, surged to a 9:20 second mile, then eased to a 12:02 close, finishing with her cumulative pace tightening to 10:08 per mile at the two-mile mark before settling back by the finish. That second mile stands out as the strongest stretch of her race, nearly a minute and a half faster than her closing mile. Boulder's elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds a layer of difficulty to any pace management, making that mid-race pickup a solid piece of execution. Holding more of that second-mile rhythm into the finish could be a useful focus for a future race at this distance.
