Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Donald Meixelsperger #40859 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles
Strong Middle Mile Fuels Solid 5K Finish Donald Meixelsperger, 57, of Longmont, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 23:39, an average pace of 7:37 per mile. Meixelsperger opened with a 7:38 first mile before surging to a 6:52 second mile, his fastest of the race. He eased slightly over the closing mile, finishing in 8:16, for a steady overall effort at altitude in a city sitting above 5,000 feet. The middle-mile push stands out as the highlight of his race, and a touch more evenness between miles two and three could be worth exploring next time out.
