Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Aiden Makker #41642 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Small Strides, Steady Finish Aiden Makker completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 1:02:55. His opening mile was his quickest, covered in 16:53, before pace eased to 18:58 for mile two and 25:18 for the closing mile, bringing the overall pace to 20:17 per mile across the 3.1-mile distance. The race unfolded with a strong start and a gradual settling of pace over the back half, a common shape for a young runner tackling a full 5K distance. That opening mile stands out as the highlight of the effort. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting over 5,000 feet in elevation, is a solid achievement in itself at this age, and future editions offer plenty of room to build on this pacing pattern.
