Strong Start Carries Him to a Top Finish at Altitude Alexander Dummer crossed the 10K in 40:21, good for 26th overall out of 3,071 in the field and 19th among men, with a second-place finish in the M30-34 division. His early pace set up a result that placed him among the fastest in a large field. Dummer's opening mile was his best stretch of the race, clocked at 5:51, and he held sub-6:20 pace through the first three miles before easing slightly over the second half of the course. Cumulative pace crept from 5:51 at the mile mark to 6:30 by the finish, a gradual and controlled fade rather than a sharp drop-off. Racing through downtown Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet of elevation, Dummer's ability to hold form across the back miles reflects strong pacing discipline under thinner air.
