Her race shape was a bit uneven: an opening mile of 10:09 gave way to a strong second mile at 8:38, before the pace eased back to 10:47 for the closing stretch. That middle mile stands out as the highlight of her race, showing a clear surge in the second third of the course. With the finish pace slower than the middle mile, there's an opportunity to work on sustaining that faster rhythm deeper into future 5Ks, particularly given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, which adds its own demands to any effort.
