Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kirsten Bowen #22363 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

A Fast Start Fades Late but Finishes Strong on Pearl Street Kirsten Bowen finished the half marathon in 1:49:59, trailing her 2025 Boulderthon time of 1:44:54 and her 2024 finish of 1:46:00. Bowen opened fast, covering the first six miles in just over 48 minutes at an 8:01/mile pace, the strongest stretch of her race. A rougher patch followed between miles 7 and 8, where her pace slipped to 8:56 and 9:25, before she found her rhythm again through mile 9. Splits loosened once more near miles 10 and 11, but Bowen closed with two of her steadiest miles of the day 8:00 and 8:08 carrying her to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, more than 5,000 feet above sea level.
