Strong Start Fuels Big 10K Improvement David Bowen ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:00, an 9:21/mile pacemore than seven minutes faster than his 1:05:31 at the same distance in 2025, when he averaged 10:34/mile. That gain reflects a much quicker opening stretch this year, as he covered the first three miles in roughly 8:30 pace before easing back over the closing miles to a final mile split of 11:25. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Bowen's early pace held strong through the third mile, marking the fastest stretch of his race. Should he look to build on this result, working toward a steadier pace across the back half could help close the gap between his fast start and finish.
