Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Sudha Verma #40467 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Pace Anchors a Solid 5K Finish Sudha Verma, 54, of Boulder, completed the 5K at the 2026 Boulderthon in 34:05, an average pace of 10:59 per mile. He finished 25th in the men's 50-54 division. Verma's race unfolded with early control, opening in 10:40 for the first mile before surging to a 9:25 second mile his fastest stretch of the race. The final mile slowed to 12:44, pulling his overall pace back up, but the middle-mile push stood out as the strongest segment of his run. Racing at altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet, Verma's ability to find a quicker gear mid-race is worth building on. A more even effort across the final mile could be a useful focus for his next 5K.
