Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Mariana Guevara completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:04, an average pace of 10:01 per mile. Her race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile of 10:38, a sharp drop to 8:45 for mile two, and a final mile that eased back to 10:44. That middle mile stood out as her fastest stretch of the race, a solid surge before closing out the last mile at a steadier effort. Overall, the pacing shows a runner who found rhythm mid-race and held on well to the finish, with the closing mile offering an area to explore for even pacing in future races. Boulders elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds context to any effort on this course.
