Strong Middle Mile Anchors Steady 5K Finish Borre Ulrichsen crossed the line in 34:02, closing out the 5K field of 2,677 participants. His race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile of 11:34, a sharp pickup to 9:54 through the second mile, and a final mile that eased back to 11:43 as he approached the finish. That middle mile stood out as his fastest stretch of the day, a clear surge before the pace settled again.
