Strong Start Fuels Top-Tier 5K Finish Ben Lewis crossed the line in 21:35, good for 107th overall and 82nd among men in a field of 2,677 at the 2026 Boulderthon. That result placed him inside the top 10 percent of the entire field. Lewis opened aggressively, clicking off his first mile in 6:37 before accelerating to a 6:21 second mile his fastest of the race. That two-mile stretch was the clear highlight, showing sharp, controlled speed. The final mile slowed to 7:51, a common pattern after a hard early pace. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Lewis closed his day on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With his foundation of speed already evident, dialing in a slightly more even effort across the final mile could help him carry that early pace all the way to the finish next time.
