Her race moved in three distinct phases: an opening mile at 9:45, a sharp drop to 7:51 for mile two, and a closing mile that eased back to 10:56. That second mile stood out as her fastest full-mile stretch of the day, a solid surge through the race's middle stretch. Building a plan to carry more of that mile-two strength into the closing stretch could make for an even more even-paced finish next time.
