Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Erika Olson #40279 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Finish Fuels a Fast 5K Erika Olson crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:25, placing 5th in the F45-49 division. This marks a shift from her 2024 Half Marathon finish of 2:06:28, where she averaged 9:39 per milehere she moved at a noticeably brisker 9:10 pace over the shorter distance. Olson's race unfolded with a strong middle mile: after opening in 9:25, she surged to 8:05 for mile two, her fastest stretch of the day, before settling into a 9:47 close. That second-mile push reflects sharp pacing control, and with the final mile's slight pullback, there's a small window to work on sustaining that mid-race speed through the finish in future 5Ks.
