Strong Second Mile Powers a Top 10% Finish Matija Jordovic crossed the line in 23:45, placing 185th overall and 143rd among men out of the field at the 2026 Boulderthon 5K. Jordovic opened with a 7:09 first mile, then surged to a 6:15 second mile his fastest stretch of the race before easing to a 9:12 final mile as the course wound toward downtown Boulder. That middle mile stood out as the highlight of his effort, reflecting a strong mid-race push before the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Jordovic's pacing shows a runner capable of aggressive mid-race gains; dialing in a more even final mile could offer an even stronger overall time in future outings.
