Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Dennis Swanson #41554 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start, Steady Finish at Altitude Dennis Swanson finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 24:31, placing 217th overall and 162nd among men in a field of 2,677 runners at the Boulder, Colorado race. Swanson's race built strongly through the middle miles, with his second mile clocking 6:59 the fastest mile of his race before easing to an 8:54 close over the final stretch. That surge dropped his cumulative pace from 7:51 to 7:25 per mile by the two-mile mark, showing a strong mid-race gear he might look to sustain longer next time. Racing through Boulder's thin air above 5,000 feet, Swanson's early pacing and finishing kick both reflect a well-managed effort suited to the conditions.
