Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gabriel Rodarte #40381 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Second Mile Fuels Steady 5K Finish Gabriel Rodarte completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:56, an overall pace of 8:41 per mile. Rodarte opened conservatively, covering the first mile in 9:48, then surged to a 7:33 second mile, his fastest of the race. He settled into an 8:40 pace for the final mile, closing with consistent effort through the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That middle-mile push pulled his cumulative pace down considerably, showing a runner willing to adjust after a slower start. With Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, the ability to accelerate mid-race stands out. A slightly quicker opening mile could help him carry that strong middle-mile rhythm across the full distance next time.
