Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 10K Effort Sharon Walker finished the 10K in 57:18, an average pace of 9:14 per mile. Her race built with clear rhythm: miles one through three ticked by in the 9:039:05 range, a small dip to 9:25 came in mile four, then she surged to her fastest mile of the day, an 8:29 fifth mile, before easing through the final stretch to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That fifth-mile push stood out as the highlight of her race, showing a strong finishing kick relative to her early pacing. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, holding sub-9:30 pace across most of the course reflects solid, consistent effort. A slightly more even final mile could help her close out future 10Ks with the same strength she showed in mile five.
