Strong Start Fades Into a Determined Finish Jhossep Torres completed the 10K in 1:03:00. His race opened fast, covering the first two miles in 9:06 and 8:55, putting him well ahead of his final overall pace before the closing miles slowed considerably, with the last mile coming in at 12:15. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Torres banked his quickest running in the opening two miles, averaging just over 9:00 per mile before the pace gradually eased through the second half of the course.
