Steady Effort Caps a Solid 5K Through Downtown Boulder Grant Freeman finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:53, an average pace of 10:17 per mile. His race shape moved quickly early: an opening mile of 10:34 gave way to a strong second mile of 8:48, his fastest of the race, before easing back to 11:04 over the closing mile. That middle mile stood out as his clear high point, dropping his overall pace before the final stretch settled it back out. Racing in his hometown of Boulder, Freeman took on a course at over 5,000 feet of elevation, finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder alongside the rest of the field.
