That result marks his fastest of three Boulderthon 5Ks, improving on 25:32 in 2024 and 24:07 in 2025. The race unfolded as a steady fade: a brisk 7:19 opening mile gave way to 7:35 and then 8:17, pushing his overall pace from 7:19 to 7:43 per mile by the finish. That first mile stood out as his quickest stretch of the day. Given Boulder's elevation over 5,000 feet, holding sub-8:00 pace through the final mile is a solid closing effort though there may be room to work on sustaining that early speed a bit longer next time.
