Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Eric Christensen #41462 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Pace Push Through Boulder's Thin Air Eric Christensen crossed the finish in 31:27 to complete his 5K, good for 736th overall and 441st among men in a field of 2,677. Christensen opened conservatively at 11:01 for his first mile before finding his rhythm, clipping off a 9:37 second mile his fastest stretch of the race then settling to 10:03 for the close. That mid-race surge marked the high point of an otherwise even effort, with the finish coming on the Pearl Street Mall at elevation above 5,000 feet in downtown Boulder. A slightly stronger opening mile could help him carry that second-mile speed further next time.
