Steady Pace Carries Her Through Downtown Boulder Finish Kathleen Jackson finished the half marathon in 1:48:55, an 8:18 min/mile average pace, finishing 711th overall and 192nd among women. Her race unfolded with a quick opening mile at 7:48, the fastest of her day, before settling into a steady rhythm through the middle miles in the 8:158:50 range. She found another gear late, closing with a 7:53 twelfth mile before easing to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, that kind of pace consistency across 13.1 miles reflects well-managed effort. If theres one area to consider for next time, it would be smoothing out the mid-race dip between miles 7 and 8, where pace slowed to 8:50 before rebounding.
