Steady Pacing Carries Local Runner to a Top-Tier Half Marathon Finish Charles Garabedian, 44, of Boulder, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:35:26, placing 232nd overall and 189th among men in a field of 7,223. He opened with six miles between 7:01 and 7:07 per mile, the most consistent stretch of his race, before easing to 7:367:41 through miles seven and eight. He closed strong, holding 7:147:20 pace over the final three miles to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That opening six-mile stretch, averaging just over 7:04 per mile, stood as the fastest sustained running of his day. Around mile 9.5, he would have passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone, a stretch where he was already rebuilding rhythm after the mid-race dip. Given how well he closed, a touch more discipline through miles seven and eight could make the next Boulder half even smoother.
