Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Son Pham #42334 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start, Fast Middle Mile Fuels Top-Tier 5K Finish Son Pham crossed the line in 21:51, placing 112th overall and 86th among men in a field of 2,677 at the 2026 Boulderthon. That result reflects a well-paced effort through downtown Boulder's finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Pham opened with a 6:49 first mile before surging to a 6:03 second mile, his fastest of the race. The final mile eased to 8:11, a natural settling after the strong middle push. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding that early pace speaks well to his conditioning. Consider working on sustaining that second-mile intensity through the finish for future races.
