Strong Closing Miles Power a Top 10% Finish Connor Buck completed the half marathon in 1:42:08, placing 426th overall and 340th among men in a field of 7,223. He opened steadily, holding paces between 7:31 and 7:47 through the first five miles, before easing through miles six to eight, capped by an 8:16 split at mile eight. He answered with his strongest running of the day over the final two miles, clocking 7:30 and 7:32 to close out the race with a fast finish into the Pearl Street Mall. Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, and the 2026 half marathon course was redesigned to cut net elevation gain nearly in half, down to 203 feet useful context for a race capped by his fastest closing miles. Carrying that late-race rhythm earlier could yield an even stronger overall time next time out.
