Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Scott Jurek #41858 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fourth Straight Year, Fourth Personal Best Scott Jurek closed out this year's 5K in 31:34, marking his fastest Boulderthon 5K yet improving on 32:59 in 2025, 40:33 in 2024, and 48:06 in 2023. The steady year-over-year drop reflects a runner finding his rhythm on this course. The race unfolded with a strong opening: Jurek covered the first two miles in 19:04, averaging 9:32 per mile, before easing to an 11:36 third mile as he approached the finish. That early stretch stands as the highlight of his day, holding sub-9:35 pace through two miles before the finish. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to the effort behind these results.
