Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kilian Howarth #21120 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Strong Front Half Carries Teen to Top-10% Finish Kilian Howarth crossed in 1:39:54, placing 353rd overall and 284th among men in the half marathon, a finish inside the top 10% of the field. He built an early cushion with a 7:23 opening mile and held pace in the 7:13-7:26 range through halfway, clocking his fastest full mile between miles 4 and 5 at roughly 7:03 per mile. The closing miles cost him ground, with the pace easing to 7:57 and 8:24 as he approached the Pearl Street Mall finish. The result came at over 5,000 feet of elevation in downtown Boulder. Given the strength of his first ten miles, tightening the final stretch could be a worthwhile focus for future races at this distance.
